Today we will go on sightseeing tour of some of the most famous attractions that are even included in the list of World Heritage Sites including the holy Hindu temple of Pashupatinath. We will also pay visit another holy site of Budanilkantha. Overnight in Kathmandu.
We set out early for a long drive towards the Chinese border. We cross the friendship bridge and head towards Kerung with all the immigration and customs formalities done. Overnight at guest house in Kerung.
We head towards Dongba enjoying spectacular views of Mount Shishapangma (8021 meter) and other high Himalayan mountains. We will also plass by the Pelkhutso Lake (4600 meter)and cross the Brahmaputra river to Saga. Overnight in Dongba.
This drive is very beautiful as you are surrounded by the mystical Tibetan countryside. While on route we pass through the Mayum La Pass (5200m) as well. We start seeing first glimpses of Mount Kailash and Mansarovar today. Once at Mansarovar, you can take a holy dip, relax and explore the Mansarovar area. Overnight in Mansarovar.
We start early to visit the Raksas Lake and complete the sacred rituals of morning bath and puja at Lake Mansarover. After that done we gear up for the MansarovarParikrama with a drive to the base camp for Kailash Parikrama at Tarchen. Overnight in Tarchen.
From Tarhchen we take a few hour’s drive to Tarboche, where our Kailash Parikrama begins. The trail is gorgeous and rewarding. We gradually walk along the beautiful rocky cliffs; waterfalls and breathtaking sights of the Kailash Parbat.
Today we climb the Drolma-la (Dolma-La 18600 ft) and then descent slowy to Zuthulpuk (4760m), also known as the cave of miracles, where legend has it the great Milarepa is supposed to have performed miracles. While on our way to the pass we first cross Yamasthal and then Shivasthal. The top of the pass offers spiritual richness, peace and magnificent views. After making your holiest offerings on the top we head down to Zuthulpuk passing by Parvatisthal and Gauri Kunda. Overnight ant Zuthulpuk.
We do some exploration of the Milarepa cave and then trek to Tarchen. From we drive back to Dongba. Overnight in Dongba.
We start heading back to Kerung on the same road. Overnight inKerung.
