Nagarkot Dhulikhel Day Hiking

Overview

The Nagarkot Dhulikhel Day Hiking is specially designed for those that desire a short adventure in an exotic part of the world.  The tour takes you around some of the most fascinating and culturally plus naturally rich places of Nepal. 

This is one of the most famous hiking trails in the Kathmandu valley. The trek takes you through lush green forests and traditional villages with beautiful views of the Himalayas along the way.

The trek starts from Nagarkot and ends at Dhulikhel. Nagarkot (2195m) is a hill station which is famous for the spectacular sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas. It lies 30 km away from Kathmandu in the Bhaktapur district.  On a clear day, one can get tremendous views of Annapurna range, Manaslu range, Ganesh himal range, Langtang range, Jugal range, Rolwaling range, Everest range and Numbur range from Nagarkot.

Similarly, Dhulikhel, an old Newari town, is also home to many cultural and natural heritages. It is another famous tourist site which offers the best panoramic views of the Himalayas including Mt. Annapurna (8091 m), Mt. Ganesh Himal (7429 m), Mt. Langtang (7234 m), Mt. Phuribichyachu (6637 m), Mt. Gaurishanker (7134 m), Mt. Lhotse (8516 m) and many others and beautiful landscape. It is located in the Kavre District. 

This hikingcan be taken any time of the year and has a maximum height of around 2,200m. The trek is easy, however, you should be prepared to walk 6-7 hours.
