Tilicho Lake Trek is a fantastic journey along the famous Annapurna region to one of the highest lakes in the world. The trail passes through diverse elevations, and has climates ranging from semi-tropical to desert, and with the landscapes varying from sub-tropical to alpine forests to snowy barren, and the stunning rocky Thorongla mountain pass with an altitude of 5416 meters. The trip begins in Kathmandu with visits to several cultural heritage sites. Next, drive to Besishahar then to Manang and begin the trek from Dharapani.
You will be passing through numerous suspensions bridges, monasteries, villages, ever changing landscapes, and the ancient peoples.The trek takes you through Tibetan-like Buddhist villages, and woodlands, through the Marshyangdi Valley. Further, it also offers spectacular views of Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Tilicho Peak. The trail also takes you to Mustang and the Hindu pilgrimage town of Muktinath.

We head out early for a drive from Kathmandu to Besishahar along with Trishuli and Marshyandi River. It is a small market of Lamjung district. Overnight in Besishahar
Starting early we walk pass by various vegetable plantations, waterfalls and mixed communities. We then cross bridge and then ascent two steep sectionsto reach the Tal village. Then, we pass through Kodo village and then walk along a mountain side to reach Dharapani. Then We will be making our way through steep, forested ridges along with several landslides while on route to Chame with amazing views of LamjungHimal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525m). After Chame, we will drive trhough rock face, a dramatic curved rock face rising 1500 m from the river, andbrilliant views of Annapurna 2 to the south and Pisang Peak to the north east.The trail ascends and descends passing a valley, numerous rivers and tiny settlements.Finally reach the Manang village. Overnight in Manang
We head on a trail that cuts down through a gorge from where on we catch glimpses of the Tilicho Peak. The trail to Khangsar boasts beautiful views of the Annapurna range, scenic settlements, and the magnificent Khangsar River. Overnight in Khangsar.
The first part of the trail contains wide grassy fieldsand then a gradual climb that cumulates to reveal outstanding views of the entire valley. Next, we head down towards the Tilicho Base Camp where we set our camps. Overnight at Tilicho Base Camp.
We first make a steep ascent, then traverse through moraine and finally make our way along the side of a mountain to reach our destination. Challenging but the views of Tilicho, Nilgiri, Khangsar and Muktinath peaks make the trail worth the hard work. Tilicho Lake is simply mesmerizing, when the lake isn’t frozen one can enjoy reflections of the surrounding peaks on its turquoise waters. We spend some time admiring the tranquility of the lake and the surrounding before heading back to the base camp. Overnight in Tilicho Base Camp.
We head on a trail that leads out of the Marsyangdi valley. We can start noticing the change in the vegetation. Soon we make our way through the ruins of the old Khangsar village, cross bridge over a river then back to Manang. Overnight in Manang
It is the same road you have used on day 2. Overnight in Besishahar.
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu. Happy Trip.
