Overview


The Mardi Himal Trek is especially designed for those that are seeking for short  trekking experience in the lower parts of the Annapurna region of Nepal. The trail is covered with pristine lush forests, fascinating villages, valleys, terraced farms, amazing rivers and the awe-inspiring views of the Annapurna, Machhapucchre (Fishtail) and Hiunchuli Mountains. This is a short but a beautiful trek that takes you from teahouses (lodges), to excellent hills and mountain landscape.

The Mardi Himal Trek starts from Kande which is a 30 minute drive from Pokhara. The trek starts from Kande as we head towards Pothana enjoying views of Annapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri ranges. We then make our way to Australian camp, a pretty village with marvelous views of the Annapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri ranges. From here we just climb up and up, from camps to camps, enjoying the awe-inspiring views. The highest point of the trek is at Upper View Point (4450m) which offers amazing vistas of Annapurna I (8091m), Mardi Himal (5553m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Gandharwa Chuli (6248m), Annapurna South (7219m), Gangapurna (7454m), and other Himalayas of Annapurna region.

Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m/25minutes and drive to Kande and trek to Pothana 1950m/3hours.

We travel to Pokhara on a 25 minute flight over the beautiful landscape. Once there, we drive to Kande which takes about 1 hour. We will first reach Australian Camp, a pretty village with marvelous views of the Annapurna, Manaslu, and Dhaulagiri ranges. Overnight at lodge.

Day 02: Trek from Pothana to Forest Camp 2550m/5-6hours

We walk through rhododendron decorated trails and then move up enjoying views of Machhapuchhre (6993m). We further trod up with the view of the Gurung village of Landruk. After trekking for a total of about 5-6 hours, we reach Forest Camp. You will thoroughly enjoy the mystical woods and serene views of the mountains and the small settlements, en route. Overnight stay at lodge in Forest Camp.

Day 03: Trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp 3000m/4-5hours

We start ascending on a trail. We make it through lush bamboo, rhododendron and oak forests, and silent trails. We will reach Low Camp on a very peaceful trail. Overnight at lodge in Low Camp.

Day 04: Trek from Low Camp to High Camp 3900m/4-5hours

We ascent lush green grass slopes with silver mountains over the skyline and with the river and valleys below to make for a pleasant scenery. Overnight at lodge in High Camp.

Day 05: Explore from High Camp — Upper View Point 4450m — High Camp, 5-6 hours

Today we hike up to Upper View Point (4450m) and then return to High Camp. The Upper View Point offers amazing vistas of Annapurna I (8091m), Mardi Himal (5553m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Gandharwa Chuli (6248m), Annapurna South (7219m), Gangapurna (7454m), and other Himalayas of Annapurna region. Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 06: Trek from High Camp to Siding village 1,750m/5-6 hours

We trace our way back to Low Camp with the mountains on the backdrop. We descend the Nange Danda to reach Siding which is a small but culturally rich village. Overnight at Siding.

Day 07: Trek from Siding to Lumre and drive to Pokhara- 3 hours walking and 2 hours driving.

We walk downstream following the Mardi Khola to reach Lumre. Once at Lumre, we head towards Pokhara on a 2 hours’ drive. Overnight at Pokhara.
